In the marvellous 2005, Averys contacts helped secure this sumptuous claret from one of its most feted estates, whose name we may not divulge. We can say, however, that it is from one of Pauillac's pre-eminent First Growths renowned for its robust, masculine and long-lived wines, whose Grand Vin sells for over £200 per bottle. This estate-bottled wine was brought to our attention by our trustworthy 'man on the ground' in the Medoc. The estate's principal claret garnered a mighty 96-99 Parker points in this vintage, so imagine the quality of its younger vine juice - it's tantamount to a 'Grand Vin in waiting'!
