Jean Marc Joblot had just finished the assemblage of the 2003 when we arrived to taste. All of his wines showed fantastic colour and concentration of fruit, with alcohols of 14% but completely in balance with a lovely freshness. With yields of just 20 hectolitres per hectare volumes are tiny this year. Terrific colour, rich intense fruit nose with aromas ripe blackberries. Lots of sweet pure fruit on palate and nice integration with the spiciness from the new oak barrels (75%). A beautifully balanced, velvety wine. - be quick. "This is a good deal bigger and more serious with earthy and slightly rustic briar and a mix of red and black pinot fruit aromas that complement the moderately concentrated yet supple flavours and offer good power and plenty of backend persistence.
