Cape Mentelle is 'One of Australia's foremost medium-sized wineries' (James Halliday, 'Australian Wine Companion'); set up David Hohnen who later established Cloudy Bay - and is today, part-owned by Veuve Clicquot. It is among the top five estates of Margaret River - the tiny, cool southwest region that makes more than its fair share of the country's finest wines.
