The basic blend is composed of 21 Grand and Premiers Crus (57 % Pinot Noir , 32% Chardonnay, and 11 % Pinot Meunier) situated in the Montagne de Reims and the Cote des Blancs areas, and completed with 15% of red wine. The red wine is made from Pinot Noir Grand Cru from the Bouzy vineyard. "Brilliant salmon in colour, this wine is voluptuous and velvety. An intense nose exudes aromas of caramelised fruits (redcurrant jam, figs, citrus fruits, raisins) as well as a certain freshness brought about by fragrances such as liquorice. After several minutes chocolaty and vanilla notes come to the fore. In the mouth, the wine evokes pink grapefruit and dried fruits (hazelnuts, almonds), finishing on notes of spices (ginger bread, cinnamon). A wine of great elegance, this wine presents a clean attack and a strong finish based on present yet delicately expressed tannins. An evident sensuality dominates in mid palate. Powerful and yet refined, this complex wine enchants with its heady notes. All types of meat (veal, beef. or eventually feathered game), and spices will perfectly accompany this classic gastronomic wine. A lamb tagine with figs and oriental spices would be ideal or simply enjoy a glass as an enticing aperitif right now! In good conditions, the Rose Reserve can be kept for 10 to 15 years, during which time it will develop complexity and aromatic richness."
