Description
Carmenere is an old Bordeaux varietal that now thrives in Chile and has become the countries signature grape. It tastes like a cross between spicy Syrah and succulent Merlot. The 2005 vintage of this wine won the Trophy for Chile's best Carmenere. Lifted, blueberry and blackberry aromas and black pepper spice to the nose. The palate is robust, with fleshy fruit flavours and a savoury, meaty edge. Smooth and supple tannins.
