Flaghsip wine from the exciting Amancaya winery in Mendoza. This joint venture between the Rothschilds of Lafite and Nicolas Catena expresses the best of both worlds- Argentinian purity of fruit and concerntrtaion and the expertise of the finest winemakers in Bordeaux . A truly excellent blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. The weather in 2006 was excellent during spring and summer. The windy spring was positive forthe quality of the grapes. The hail in December slightly decreased the yields of the Malbec. Wine makers tasting note: Deep purple-red colour. Fruit driven wine, with appealing red and black cherries flavours, black plums, hint of mint and cedar. On the palate it has a nice tannic texture that is full and round. Notes of vanilla and tobacco coming from French oak. Nice to drink now or to be laid down.
