Utterly delicious, a 'true connoisseur's wine' - Robert Parker. Domaine de Chevalier is a famed cru classe estate in Pessac Leognan. It's one of the few estates in Bordeaux to produce truly first class reds and whites... and now roses. Believe us when we say this wine is scarce. A mere 500 cases are crafted annually, under the watchful eye of the estate's larger-than-life owner Olivier Bernard and equally famous consultant winemaker Stephane Derenoncourt. To achieve its gloriously light crimson colour, the juice of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is drawn off from vats of the fermenting Grand Vin at an early stage. Deep pink with pronounced blackcurrant and cherry character, this wine displays lovely breeding and finesse. It is weighty, ripe, mineraly and dry. At £8.95 it is a recommended buy or summer soirees, dinner parties and a little self-indulgence. Several notches above good rose, this limited edition beauty is not to be missed.
