Description Keen Rhone fans will have spotted this bottle prominently featured on the front cover of Decanter's 'Kings of the Rhone' edition (Feb 2007). Another new discovery for us, this 2006 award winner is a wine of impeccable quality. Made in a traditional method, it is full-bodied with concentrated black cherry and cassis notes. Its powerful young fruit acquires rich, toasty flavours, culminating in a wine of considerable finesse and elegance. The complex tannin structure ensures great ageing potential. Adjacent to Beaucastel, this wine shares its terroir but not its price. This succulent Rhone has 60% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre, 10% Cinsault and 10% Syrah. 18/20 Jancis Robinson Online Jan 2008 "Blackish crimson. Really interesting nose of coffee, even menthol. Unlike so many of these regular or tradition bottlings, this smells like a Cuvee Speciale. Lots of effort, intensity and complexity to draw you in to the glass. Plump on the mid palate with fruit completely dominating the fine tannins." Drink 2009 to 2013. Delivery November 2008. Prices are for the wine cost only lying in bond Nailsea. On receipt of the wine into the UK, duty, VAT and delivery will be payable.
