Description
Mendoza is the biggest and most important of Argentina`s wine regions, it includes a wide variety of altitudes and microclimates to allow a huge range of wine styles. This producer Finca Sophenia is located at high altitude to achieve cooler average temperatures in the trendy Tupungato region at the western extreme of Mendoza right at the foot of the Andes mountains. At an elevation of 1200 meters the vineyards benefit from the cooler climate, abundant sun, and sharp contrast between day and night temperatures, which allow the wines to find their utmost expression. Wine maker Matias Michelini here makes a wine with citric aromas of pink grapefruit, passion fruit and lime. In the mouth it is fresh and citric, with intense and concentrated flavours and a lingering aftertaste.
