Description
'Wine growers since 1815 (Waterloo was not the only event this year) Billaud are famous for their serious Chablis' (France's Guide Hachette). This wonderful Premier Cru example is a delicate light lemon colour. There is a certain toastiness on the palate which is a welcome anomaly, for no new oak is used in its maturation. With a rich ripe fruit palate, this is unusually soft for a Chablis but with good length and a hint of pineapple flavour. Will develop and improve for several years. Drink 2009 to 2013.
