Robert Niero's family estate in Condrieu continues apace with Les Ravines 2006, selected from four parcels of Viognier vines planted on steep south-southeast facing granite slopes. Cool fermentation temperatures preserve freshness in the wine, which then undergoes malolactic fermentation in 35% oak barrels to add richness. Dried grass and lime blossom aromas develop onto a fresh, juicy palate with a medium body, good acidity and excellent length. Drink now to 2011.
