Description
United by their passion for the ancient Roman vineyards of the northern Rhone, star vignerons Pierre Gaillard, Francois Villard and Yves Cuilleron create this their top Condrieu from low-yielding vines planted on steep mica-rich slopes. Barrel fermentation is followed by a year's maturation in oak barrels, 10% of which are new, in which the lees are stirred for 12 months to add depth of flavour. The wine has a beautiful straw colour, with delicate peach, vanilla, straw and honeysuckle on the nose. The palate is fresh and floral; its pure fruit flavours underpinned by an impressive acidity.
