Description
Cascina Luisin was founded in 1913 by Luigi Minuto, the great grandfather of the current owner, Roberto. The estate has always been family run to maintain complete control of production - from pruning through to harvest and then from winemaking and maturation, through to sales.
Located in Barbaresco, the estate covers only 7 hectares, with the planting divided between Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto, with their total annual production averaging only 30,000 bottles. They aim to accentuate the character of individual wines, respecting the terroir and preferring to take a traditional approach to vinification. (this is not a cellar where you will find lots of new oak barrels). To this end the Barbaresco Sori and Rabaja are made in exactly the same way, in order to highlight the natural differences in their structure and fruit character.
