Description
In 1849, Samuel Smith, an English brewer bought 30 acres in the Barossa Valley. 160 years and five generations later,Yalumba is Australia?s oldest family-owned estate. We are delighted to introduce to you classic Barossa Valley Shiraz from this renowned estate. Crafted by Winemaker of the Year 2008, Louisa Rose, in partnership with pioneer of new world wines, John Avery, these exceptional new wines continue the two companies? tradition of pioneering wines.

The Barossa Valley is Australia's most famous region, renowned for its rich, densely flavoured Shiraz. So when we joined forces with one of Barossa's most prestigious estates, how could we resist crafting a super-concentrated, complex, archetypal Aussie Shiraz.

Dense crimson purple colour with aromas of dark cherries, summer pudding, blackberry jam and hints of cinnamon and vanilla. The palate is rich and juicy with flavours of wild black berries and black forest gateau. The tannins are ripe and generous; the finish is fresh and lingering.

Yalumba takes its environmental responsibilities seriously and is proud to be the first Wine Company in the World to receive the Climate Protection Award from the US Environmental Protection Agency 2007. Yalumba is also the first Company to be officially recognised (in 2005) by the Australian Government's Greenhouse Office as a 'Leader' in greenhouse gas management, and are the proud recipients of an International Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practices (Australia and New Zealand), from the United Kingdom in 2007.
