Averys has in-depth knowledge of many wine regions but none more so than Bordeaux. The wines in the mixed case consist of:
Château Lamartine 2005. It was hand-picked at the estate's superbly sited vineyards in the Côtes de Castillon, just a stone's throw from the world's most renowned Merlot producing area, St Emilion. Also available as a straight case.
Château du Retout is a rare treat from the wonderful 2000 vintage, one of the best Bordeaux has seen in the last two decades. Du Retout is a bemedalled Cru Bourgeois from the quality enclave of Cussac Fort Médoc, situated between Margaux and St Julien.
Château Lenormand 2005 is a traditional, family-run estate located within the underrated Premières Côtes de Bordeaux. This region is a source of excellent and great-value claret for those who know where to look - as we pride ourselves on doing!
Finally, Château Lalande Couturier is a gem from the already mythical 2005 vintage. Made under the guidance of St Emilion star Château Valandraud's Jean-Luc Thunevin, the property is only 4 hectares.
Normally £109, these thrilling wines could be yours for a mere £59.99.

And what happens next?
Thereafter, every three months, we will set aside for you an exciting case of clarets. We will write to you a month in advance of dispatch with full details. The price will always be between £80 and £120 plus £5.99 delivery. The straight case option will feature our latest, fine claret discovery and the mixed case will include three bottles of the 'Discovery Claret' plus three other quality clarets.
If, upon receiving your preview letter you decide not to take the case, simply let us know by phone or in writing. There is no obligation at all - 'take a break' as often as you like.
