Château Mazeau is made at Château Chardavoine. The current owner is Eric Paillet who took over the family property in 1999. The estate lies in the commune of Soulignac, in the heart of the Entre-deux-Mers region and has been in Eric’s family for five generations.Eric learned his great passion for winemaking from his grandfather, carrying on the family tradition of producing fantastic traditional clarets A blend of 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc, from vines with an average age of 30 years, this vintage is fresh, fruity and well-balanced The 2012 is drinking beautifully now with a lovely savouriness owing to its age. Decant an hour in advance to enjoy at its best. A beautiful deep colour with a silky smooth palate and good structure. A marked earthiness is balanced with aromas of cassis, blackberries and notes of spice and pepper. We recommend pairing with a duck confit or rich game stew.
