Frequently awarded the prestigious '2 glass' rating in La Revue du Vin de France, and starred ratings in the Guide Hachette 2008, this Massif d'Uchaux is a fine Rhone from an excellent vintage. 'Vigneron Independant' Marie-Pierre Plumet produces a mere 300 cases of this delicious wine, which we were keen to secure for Averys customers. The classic Grenache-Mourvedre blend luxuriates in oak barrels at its 45-hectare estate in the Cotes du Rhone Villages' newest region, the sandy and stony Massif d'Uchaux. Dark purple in colour with intense aromas of violets and garrigue spice. The tannins are ripe and interate well with the rich, vibrant fruit. Silky and fine with a strutured frame. Delicious already, but with the potential to soften and develop with a few years bottle age.
