Excitement has been building for the 2009 vintage ever since the grapes were harvested and it has already been compared to legendary years such as 2005, 1961 and 1947. Could this really be one of Bordeaux's incredible vintages?

Summer 2009 was dry, sunny and warm but not excessively hot; autumn followed a similar pattern with a little rain but was generally sunny and exceptionally warm for the time of year. The warm weather then continued well into October, which accounts for the incredible concentration and high alcohols of this vintage.
