IGP Pays’ d’Oc stands for ‘Indication Géographique Protégée’ and replaced Vin de Pays d’Oc in 2009. IGP Pays d’Oc wines come from across the Languedoc-Roussillon region in Southern France. These are wines which do not have to comply to strict AC regulations, giving winemakers much more flexibility and the opportunity to be more innovative. This, along with a very favourable climate and diverse terroir, is why many of the country’s top winemakers have been attracted to the region.
100% Viognier, a grape made famous in the tiny, top-quality enclave of Condrieu in the Northern Rhône
Although winemakers all over the world have tried to emulate this style, few have come close and great value examples like this one are extremely rare
Not surprisingly, this has become one of our most popular whites and the 2016 is a real treat
Tasting note: Classic Viognier notes of white flowers, tropical fruits and honey come to the fore on the nose while the palate abounds with apricot and white peach flavours. Ripe and refreshing with well-balanced acidity, it’s a perfect partner to grilled white meats or soft French cheeses.
