Chablis is the most northerly district of Burgundy and because it’s separate is often considered its own distinct region. Whilst Chablis is considered one of the most pristine, pure examples of Chardonnay in the world, its wines – even its Grand Crus – sell for considerably less than the best of the Côte d’Or. Indeed, Chablis is arguably the best value white in Burgundy.
“Marchive and Breteaudeau continue to drive the quality of the Malandes wines to new heights. Readers who are not familiar with the wines owe it to themselves to try a few bottles.” - Burgundy expert Allen Meadows, Burghound
The famous Kimmeridgian soils of the region give this wine its lively, fresh minerality
We’ve been working with Domaine des Malandes for over 25 years and year in, year out, they produce Chablis of exceptional quality
Tasting note:The 2016 has lovely Chablis typicity; it’s focused and steely with fresh grapefruit aromas, impressive purity and a crisp, fresh finish. Perfect with a seafood platter.
