Aconcagua Valley has one of the most privileged positions in Chile. Long hours of sunshine and cooling breezes from the Andes combine to provide perfect growing conditions to make this a true winemaker’s paradise. Made by Horacio Vicente, a former winemaker at Bordeaux first-growth Château Mouton Rothschild, this red shows more than a nod to his Bordeaux training. It's a classy Cabernet Sauvignon that combines ripe Chilean fruit with subtlety and finesse. Horacio’s father founded Viña San Esteban in 1974 and was pioneering in planting vineyards on hillsides in the valley. Viña San Esteban own some of the highest in the region and at around 800 metres, are cooler than many. The result is in an almost Bordeaux-like elegance.
