Château Guiraud is a 1er Cru Sauternes estate but since this is a dry white (50% Sauvignon Blanc, 50% Sémillon) and Sauternes can only used for sweet wines, it’s simply labelled Bordeaux Blanc. As you’d expect, the winemaking is second to none and it comes from some of the finest terroir in the region so has incredible richness and complexity. Enjoy in its youth whilst super-fresh and bright or cellar for a few years to become richer and develop more savoury tones. “The 2018 G de Guiraud gives up scents of poached pears, lemon marmalade and fresh pineapple with touches of lime zest and white pepper.” robertparker.com
