Château Tour Haut Labrit is made at a small property run by the Fontaneau family in the great value Entre-deux-Mers region. Their vineyards are superbly located in Moulon on the slopes of the Dordogne River, directly opposite Saint-Émilion. Here the family grow predominantly Merlot, which is very ripe and juicy in 2018, together with a touch of Cabernet Franc adding lovely floral freshness. A ripe nose with juicy fruit – mulberries, plums and raspberries – and a touch of violet. Remarkably easy-drinking, soft and supple despite its youth. Lots of fresh bramble fruit flavours with svelte tannins. A real charmer.
