The Falgueyret family has been tending vines in the Jugazan area of the Entre-deux-Mers since 1860. But it wasn’t until the current owner’s son, Jerôme Falgueyret, qualified with a degree in oenology that they decided to vinify their own wines. Prior to 2001, all the grapes had been sold to the local co-operative but with Jerôme now on board, the property is making their own wines and each year, the wines are getting better and better. A serious, rich claret blended from 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet SauvignonWinner of a gold medal at the Concours Général ParisSmooth and well-balanced with supple tannins, it would be perfect with a Sunday roast. Bright ruby colour with purple hints owing to its youth. On the nose ripe blackcurrants and berries come to the fore with further soft, generous fruits on the palate accompanied by warming spices.
