Château Courreges is a family-owned estate in the village of Vérac, just west of Pomerol. The Pineaud family have been making wines here for four generations now and their experience shows. Grapes are sorted berry by berry when they arrive at the winery sorting table, and only the best are used.
If you like the fleshy, Merlot-rich clarets of the right-bank but are less keen on the prices of Pomerol and Saint-Émilion, this is one for you
The excellence of every vintage is ensured through careful selection in the vineyard and at the winery
A gold-medal winner in Paris, the 2014 vintage is an absolute delight – expect black fruits, soft spices and an easy-drinking smoothness that makes it great for drinking now
Tasting note: A bright red hue with aromas of blackcurrants and hints of wild herbs. Lovely black cherry fruit on the palate with a gentle splash of oak. Already drinking well despite its youth – open an hour before serving and enjoy with a traditional roast or herby casserole. Well deserving of its gold medal!
