Pernand-Vergelesses is tucked into the junction of two valleys among the hills of the Côte de Beaune. The nearby Hill of Corton stands guard over it and two other villages, Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix-Serrigny, harbouring prestigious Grands Crus: Corton in red and Corton-Charlemangne in white.. Dubreuil-Fontaine is one of The Wine Advocate’s “favourite domains in Pernand-Vergelesses” Winemaker Christine Gruere is obsessive about quality and the local terroir The estate made good wines in 2016, despite Mother Nature’s wrath, although production was down . Bright ruby in the glass with fragrant aromatics of raspberry, cherry and crushed strawberry. The palate is soft and round displaying intense red fruit with hints of ground pepper.
