From a family owned and run estate situated at one of the highest points of Côtes de Bourg on the Right Bank. The Château has been in the hands of the Bassereau family since 1900, and benefits from the Red Gravel and Clay soils perfect for ripening Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their wines are in the classic Right Bank style and are predominantly Merlot, with Cabernet and a small amount of Malbec blended in. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and a further 7 years in bottle, the nose delivers notes of ripe black fruits with mocha and roasted coffee aromas. The palate is smooth textured, with nice volume in the mouth and the tannins are elegant and pleasantly woody. A rich, velvety claret with ripe black fruits and hints of mocha and tobacco.
