This is an archetypal Médoc from a family estate in Saint Christoly-de-Médoc, just north of Saint-Éstephe on the Left Bank. Old vines, classic gravel soils and careful use of oak have resulted in a sophisticated claret with super concentration and delicate toasty nuances.
2012 is a vintage that we have been really enjoying of late; the wines represent excellent value and are coming into their own right now
With five years ageing under its belt, this one is drinking beautifully - the tannins have softened and the fruit is enhanced by savoury, earthy hints
Awarded a gold medal in France’s renowned Gilbert & Gaillard Guide 2015
Tasting note: A surprisingly youthful nose for its age with toasty new oak and crisp blackcurrant fruit. On the palate, the old vine fruit gives it excellent concentration with earthy, maturing black fruits typical of Cabernet Sauvignon, supple tannin and crisp, balancing acidity.
