Château L'Orme de Pilon is in the Entre-deux-Mers, in the commune of Juillac. The vineyards are on classic clay-limestone soils which are well suited to Merlot. This charming property is today managed by talented winemaker Laurent Zecchini.
The 2016 vintage is a silky-smooth blend of 70% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc and 14% Cabernet Sauvignon
It is drinking deliciously now but could also be cellared for up to four years
A dense and spicy claret, it would be fantastic served alongside a platter of charcuterie or with rich, tomato-based pasta dishes
Tasting note:Rich yet elegant, the nose has racy, red fruit aromas and roasted spice notes. The wine reveals a ripe fruity core and a rounded mouthfeel with a long finish.
