Oude Kaap Reserve Sauvignon Blanc is named after the Cape of Good Hope, known as ‘Old Cape’ to the Dutch settlers who first made wine in South Africa over 350 years ago. But it was when the French Huguenots settled at the Cape, bringing their vines with them, that South African winemaking really began to flourish. To this day, you can taste the French influence in wines like this one which elegantly straddles the Old World and the New in style. Fresh aromas of mouth-watering tropical fruits with just a hint of stony minerality and fresh green herbs. Dry and refreshing with passion fruit, a twist of lemon and a crisp, grassy freshness that echoes France’s star Sauvignons.
