Born in the Abruzzo, Niro represents the ancient winemaking traditions of a region where vines date back to the Roman Empire. Nestled between the Adriatic Sea to the east and the Apennines Mountains to the west, the areas of Vasto and Chieti offer the perfect climate for highlighting all the exceptional characteristics of Pecorino grape.
Bronze medal winner at International Wine Challenge 2018 and Decanter 2018
Named for the ancient tradition of herding sheep (Pecora is the Italian word for sheep), the Pecorino grape is one of the first to ripen and sheep are attracted to the fruit
Only the best fruit in small lots is selected and vinified following traditional techniques sometimes overlooked by modern technology
Tasting note: Straw-yellow with golden nuances and greenish tinges. Flowery bouquet with acacia hints and balsamic and sage overtones. Tropical fruit scents, pineapple, makes this wine particularly appetizing. A full bodied taste, with a good structure and long- lingering with some pleasant and enticing mineral overtones.
