The award-winning Pfaffl winery is run by siblings Roman Josef Pfaffl and his sister Heidi, supported too by their parents. Roman reigns in the vineyard and cellar; Heidi runs the business side and the marketing. Their 110 hectares are their pride and joy – dotted around the village of Stetten in Weinviertel and with parcels close to Vienna, all tended very sustainably. With a wide range of terroir, they can produce a broad spectrum of wine styles, but their most prized is the Grüner Veltliners, the treasured grape of Austria. The grapes for HAID come from the lower slopes of the Bisamberg mountain, with deep loess soils. Typically this fabulous white has a lovely fruitiness, still with classic pepper and mineral notes and creamy weight.

"A creamy-dreamy gruner veltliner, the orange-blossom character wafting over palate. Long" James Suckling
