The Sartirano family has been making fine wine in Piedmont for four generations, since 1871. They've gradually built up the estate, adding 27 hectares of Barolo's finest, south-facing vineyards in 1988. In 2002, they purchased the Ghercina property, in Langhe's Novello, building a modern cellar, 70% underground! It's here, in this village, that the Nas-cëtta grape was rediscovered. Some growers found bottles with 10 years age, uncorked them and were amazed at how delicious the wine was. They went searching for the vines – its grapes are golden with a rusty spot – and have gradually reintroduced a few hectares. We aren't suggesting you age the wine that long. Enjoy instead all its floral, honeyed notes, zapped through by mineral refreshment.
