This stylish Chardonnay delivers impressive finesse for the money, and bags of crisp peach and lemony character. From a top winery in Moldova, a country with 2,000 years of winemaking history, it certainly gives French Chardonnay a run for its money!

With the richness and elegance of good white Burgundy from the Mâconnais, Albastrele Chardonnay has been described as “a great surprise” and “a wonderful find” by Top 25 reviewers online. Indeed, since its launch over a decade ago, Albastrele has amassed awards in Europe for nearly every vintage. It shows just how perfect for winemaking the Black Sea influenced climate in Moldova really is. No wonder that during the 18th and 19th centuries Moldova became the ‘Vineyard to the Tsars’. Made from hand-picked grapes at Tvarditsa Estate, Albastrele is named after the cornflowers that carpet the vineyards in spring. Winemaker Ion Loghin has crafted a fresh white with generous citrus and apricot character. Lovely on its own or with chicken or pork.
