Chile’s super-smooth answer to Bordeaux
Carmenère is one of the original grapes of Bordeaux but these days, it’s much more at home in the sunny vineyards of Chile. Here, it’s blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, another Bordeaux grape that flourishes in Chile, and the result is a rich yet elegant red with ripe mulberries, spiced plums and the merest touch of spicy oak. Delicious with herb-roasted lamb or roasted Mediterranean vegetables. Arauco comes from fourth generation Pablo Cremaschi at the award-winning Cremaschi Furlotti winery in Chile’s Maule Valley.
