If you’re not yet a convert to the wonderful array of flavours of top quality sherry, here’s a great place to start. This is a rich figgy spice, nutty cream sherry, boosted by the sweetness of PX (Pedro Ximénez). It's from the famous Barbadillo family, founded in 1821, with many awards. In 2015 it was named ‘Best Winery of the Year’ by Guía Peñín and its Manzanilla Solear was awarded ‘Best Manzanilla in the World’. 7th generation, the company is still one of the most innovative in the wine world and boasts 500 hectares of Jerez vines and remarkable stocks of Palo Cortado for blending. Supreme is a gorgeous cream sherry – the sweetest style, aged for seven years in bottas (casks) to oxidise and blended traditionally using the solera system.
