Our 2018 ‘house’ Fine Red Burgundy is an exclusive from Vincent Prunier. We have been really impressed with the 2016 and 2017 Bourgogne from Vincent, so we asked him to blend the 2018. His domaine started with vines in Auxey Duresses, but he's since added parcels in some of the Côte de Beaune’s foremost villages, including Chassagne Montrachet. Like its famous neighbour Puligny, Chassagne is best known for its whites, but also produces exceptional Pinot Noir. 2018 was blessed with plentiful rain through winter and spring, which stood the vines in good stead through the hot, dry summer. In all, a fine, ripe vintage producing classic cherry aromas, with juicy berry notes, soft tannins and a touch of oak. Chicken with morels - a dream match.
