Jancis Robinson MW called Alsace, “One of the great, under appreciated treasures of the wine world.” It lies in the northeast corner of France, on the border of Germany. Centred around Hunawihr, this renowned cellar was founded in 1954, after WW2, when the area was at its lowest ebb. Today it has over 100 members and makes exemplary, award winning wines. To carry the Averys name is an honour, as it is only bestowed upon wines of exceptional quality and value, like this special cuvée. Most whites in Alsace are single varietal, but this one is a blend of the region's classic grapes: Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner. Thanks to sunshine and cool mountain air in Alsace, the wine's fruit is very pure. A food friendly white – great with chicken or salmon.
