A top vintage Premier Cru Champagne – Blanc de Blancs, so that's pure Chardonnay. Grapes in 2009 reached unrivalled ripeness, so you'll discover here pure, intense fruit, great citrusy minerality with long biscuity complexity from 11 years' age.
Beyond the Label
Fine bubbles, intense fruit, real grip of minerality, yeasty length
Creamy peach, citrus minerality and toasty, yeasty aromas
We reserve the Averys label for the very best wine in a category, so you can be assured here of a very fine, bottle matured Champagne. 2009 provided ideal autumn conditions and many houses declared a vintage (only done in the very best years). Blanc de Blancs on a label indicates all Chardonnay and that's clear from the brilliant ripe, creamy peach fruit balanced by its tight citrus and linear minerality. All the grapes are either Grand Cru or Premier Cru from the Côte des Blancs, each parcel bringing a different character to the wine – fruit, floral hints, power and elegance. Nearly half reserve wine, the liquid is aged four years on lees before dégorgement. All this adds up to fabulous layers of richness and complexity. Savour slowly.
"We reserve the Averys label for the very best – terrific vintage and a magnificent Champagne"
