We reserve the Averys label for the very best wine in a category, so you can be assured here of a very fine, bottle-matured Champagne. 2012 yielded a small but exceptional crop in Champagne, similar to that of 2009, producing fruit of outstanding concentration and intensity. Blanc de Blancs on a label indicates all Chardonnay and that's clear from the brilliant ripe, creamy peach fruit balanced by its tight citrus and linear minerality. The grapes come from Premier Cru slopes in the Côte des Blancs, bringing a wealth of power and elegance, to make a very luxurious drink. Nearly half reserve wine, the liquid is aged four years on lees before dégorgement. All this adds up to fabulous layers of richness and complexity. Savour slowly.
