Don Albano Balduzzi’s winemaking heritage goes back to the 1700s in Italy. Arriving in Chile, he recognised the magnificent potential of the Maule Valley and settled there. Today his grandson Jorge Balduzzi and his family run the estate together with a team of 60 in the vineyards and winery. Head winemaker Victor Vargas works closely with oenologist Fernando Ureta, who studied at the University of Bordeaux and has 35 years’ experience. They place great emphasis on new technology to capture maximum flavour and to minimise environmental impact through the most efficient use of energy and water. This beautifully made Cabernet exudes bright, minty cassis with some herbaceous character. An excellent choice with grilled meats or veggie moussaka.
