Bedrock’s vineyards cover 60 hectares of premium land in Sonoma Valley, one of California's finest areas. It was founded in 2007 by winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson in a former chicken coop. With vines dating back to 1888 in Sonoma's prized Glen Ellen, their Zinfandel is mesmirising in its layers of rich flavour. Like most places, their 2020 vintage was tainted by covid (and bushfires), but rather than making it a lesser wine, it's boosted quality. Exceptional parcels of grapes were included in their Old Vine Zinfandel. The result is fantastic value for the serious liquid inside! Raised in French and Austrian casks, this is a classic California Zinfandel with a velvety texture and a dense, dark core of fruit. Best served with hearty dishes.
