Château Lary Lacombe has been in the Forcato family since 1950. Passed from Angelo to his son Aronne, then to grandsons Serge and Patrick, it lies 50km southeast of the city of Bordeaux, in the Entre Deux Mers' Saint Vivien de Monségur. It boasts extensive vineyards – 70 hectares of well drained, clay based soils, southfacing too for maximum exposure. Their red wines have received much consumer praise, as have done their crisp, dry whites. 2018 was "another incredible vintage" wrote critic Jeb Dunnock, while James Suckling called the wines "beautifully structured with ripe fruit and potent tannins." There is plenty to enjoy with this forward drinking, Merlot based claret. Open early and serve with roast meats or baked stuffed squash.
