Enticingly aromatic, Argentina’s Torrontés is like a breath of fresh air. This is one from Santa Julia, part of Familia Zuccardi, a leader in Argentinian winemaking. It was founded nearly 50 years ago by the engineer Alberto Zuccardi, who initially planted a vineyard to show off his new irrigation system. Today his son, José, and grandson, Sebastián, run the business and have clocked up many top awards. That includes a Lifetime Achievement for José and No.1 Winemaker of Argentina for Sebastián. At their Santa Julia winery, Ruben Ruffo makes the wine. Grapes selected from family vineyards in Maipu and Santa Rosa produce a bright, fresh wine with hints of pineapple and white flowers. Chill and enjoy by itself or with spicy Asian dishes.
