Biondi Santi are “one of the sanctuaries of Italian wine” (Decanter). This historic estate dates back hundreds of years, and is revered by connoisseurs worldwide. Their breathtaking Annata comes from the Tenuta Greppo vineyard, and represents the very peak of Brunello Biondi Santi were the first to bottle Brunello di Montalcino in 1865. It has since risen to the status of Italy’s greatest red, alongside Barolo, and is certainly the finest wine made from Italy’s “hero grape” Sangiovese As the Wine Advocate says, “It's always such a pleasure and an honor to be in front of a bottle of Biondi-Santi. These wines deliver a sense of history and tradition that puts them into a very elite group of Italian icons”Hand-picked, rigorously sorted fruit is aged for 36 months in the best Slavonic oak barrels. This wine will last for decades, and will be the crowning glory of whatever occasion it is opened for. Breathtaking aromas of dark red cherries – generous despite the wine’s relative youth – billow beside twists of black pepper, tea leaf and liquorice. A taut, concentrated palate of blackcurrant compote, sour cherry and scorched rock will continue to unfurl over the coming years – even decades.
