Casa Silva Reserva Malbec 2018

Valle de Colchagua

Chile’s Malbec is fast becoming as recognised as the wines of their neighbour on the other side of the Andes. It’s thanks to wineries like Casa Silva, growing perfect ripe grapes, which they transform into dark, rich reds like this opulent Reserva.

Malbec may be thought of as Argentina’s 'signature red', but the great, plush, fruit filled beauties of Chile can now be every bit as opulent. Leading the charge is Casa Silva, a 'Vineyard of the Year' estate described by Vitis Magazine as “The most awarded winery of the 21st century”. In the heart of premium Colchagua Valley they’ve perfected ocean-cooled, sun-ripened Malbec that brims with the same rich, dark fruits, moreish softness and sweet spice as anything grown in Argentina’s Mendoza. Hand-harvested grapes are matured in toasty oak to add sumptuous layers of vanilla and toast to the intense purple fruits. A wine tailor-made for grilled red meats – lamb chops to steak – and a tasty partner with lasagne or vegetarian chilli too.

"Watch out Argentina! This luscious, oak-aged Chilean Malbec is velvety and thoroughly moreish" Leonardo Bassano
