Averys Fine Red Burgundy 2017

Bourgogne AOC

Our Fine Red Burgundy 2017 is made by Vincent Prunier. It's a big favourite with Mimi Avery: "Classic crunchy cherry aroma. Lovely juicy fruit overlaying silky tannins - delicious flavours, plus good body and weight - not entry level at all.”

Our 2017 ‘house’ Fine Red Burgundy is an exclusive from Vincent Prunier. We were so happy with last year’s Bourgogne Rouge that we went back to ask Vincent to blend the new vintage. Starting with vines in Auxey Duresses, he has since added parcels in some of the Côte de Beaune’s foremost villages, including Chassagne Montrachet. Like its famous neighbour Puligny Montrachet, Chassagne Montrachet is best known for its whites, but Chassagne Montrachet also produces exceptional Pinot Noir. The 2017 vintage was received rapturously, especially after the difficult 2016, and the quality shines through here. Classic cherry aromas, with juicy berry notes, soft tannins and lovely balance from a deft use of oak. Chicken with morels - a dream match.

"Very good, unmistakeably Burgundian. I can’t recall a better Burgundy at the price" Online Review
