Today, the wines are made by Raffaella and Giuseppe Bologna the third “Braida” generation Giacomo Bologna was the first to realise that Barbera could age well in small oak barrels and went on to create three now-famous crus - Uccellone, Bricco della Bogotta, and Ai Suma‘Il Baciale’ means ‘the matchmaker’ and this is a blend of Barbera with Pinot Nero, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Smooth and velvety with spiced red berries, mineral notes and a juicy, fresh finish. A complex red, this would be a fantastic accompaniment for Italian appetisers, red meats or young cheeses.
