Château du Champ des Treilles is a surprising estate in easternmost Entre Deux Mers. Surprising because this small 10 hectare property is teaching some of Bordeaux's top names about biodynamic production! Their château was founded by Jean Michel's grandparents, who came from Italy and planted their first vines in the 1920s. Jean Michel and Corinne took over when his parents retired and, at the death of his mother, decided they wanted to follow an organic, then biodynamic path. They have been astounded by the rejuvenation of their vineyards – the soils, the plants and also their workers. In 2004, they persuaded Pontet Canet's Alfred Tesseron to convert to biodynamic and today remain leaders in the field. Le Petit Champ has real fruit charm.
