Moulin à Vent is the most beloved of all Beaujolais Crus, the wine that ages magnificently and comes closest to Cru Burgundy in maturity. Domaine du Moulin-à-Vent is one of its finest producers. It dates to 1792, but really came into its own when Jean-Jacques Parinet purchased the property in 2007, investing heavily in the vineyard and cellar. He began by replanting 70,000 vines, moving to sustainable viticulture and buying new oak barrels. He harvests at around half the norm (20-35hl/ha vs 56hl/ha permitted) and plants the vines much more densely. This all adds up to gorgeous concentration. He has been placed among the Top 10 Domaines of France and the Top 100 Wineries of the World. His 2016 Moulin is pure joy - gamey, velvety, ripe fruit.

"Very sweet start with lively styling and transparency. Wonderfully throbbing lively finish" Jancis Robinson MW
